Overview
Dr. Chessler is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist who specializes in adult endocrinology, metabolism and diabetes. He is part of the clinical team at the UC Irvine Health Diabetes Center. He has a research program funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that focuses on the biology of the insulin-producing pancreatic islet beta cells, the basis of beta cell failure in diabetes and identifying new therapeutic targets for treating diabetes.
