Joshua Maier, MD, FACP, FACE, practices endocrinology at Endocrine & Thyroid Specialists at WK Pierremont Health Center. He specializes in the treatment of adults 18 years and older diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and other endocrine disorders. Dr. Maier looks forward to using new medications and technologies to treat chronic conditions related to hormone dysfunction.  

A Louisiana native, Dr. Maier graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biological engineering and a minor in chemistry from LSU Baton Rouge. He followed with a medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport School of Medicine, also graduating summa cum laude. His clinical training included an internal medicine residency and an endocrinology fellowship at the same location. Dr. Maier is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, both by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  

Dr. Maier and his wife have two children and lots of local family in the Ark-La-Tex. In addition to quality family time, Dr. Maier enjoys exercise, hiking in nature, traveling, reading, baking bread and playing guitar.
