Overview
Dr. Robertson currently practices Endocrinology with the Atlanta Diabetes Associates and at Piedmont Hospital Atlanta. He has been with this practice since 1998. Previously he was in practice at the Emory Clinic for six years. In addition to general Endocrinology, his practice focuses on metabolic risks for cardiovascular disease and endocrine disease in transplant patients. He has a particular interest in thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, pituitary disease, adrenal dysfunction and complications of type 1 and type 2 disease. His team consists of physician assistants who have expertise in these areas as well.
Within his practice he is involved in numerous clinical trials related to the treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, the treatment of hypothyroidism, the treatment of hypercholesterolemia, and treatments of hypogonadism. He has published papers in many of these areas.
Previously, he was part of the faculty at Emory University School of Medicine. His faculty association was with both the Division of Endocrinology and the Division of Arteriosclerosis and Lipid Metabolism. Prior to his association with Piedmont Hospital, he was a National Institute of Health investigator at Emory University who received a Physician Scientist Award focused on the regulation of gene expression by insulin in primary hepatocyte and adipocyte cultures.
